Current Restrictions in Costa Rica Extended Through June 6th

Today the Costa Rica government extended the current restrictions through June 6, 2021, with few changes.

 Transportation 

• Public transportation on a regular basis without standing people.

• The sanitary vehicle restriction by odd and even license plate number will be extended for another week. The list of exceptions still applies.
  

 Beaches & National Parks 

• National Parks (except Poás Volcano which is already operating at a limited capacity) limited to 50% capacity.

• Beaches will continue to remain open from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 Businesses 

• Establishments with a sanitary permit to operate customer service will continue to operate from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm.

• Supermarkets, mini-supermarkets, grocery stores and liquor stores must adjust to the hours of operation from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm.

• The limited capacities are extended as follows:

  • Academic and business activities are limited to 150 people.

  • Social events are limited to 30 people.

  • Places of worship are limited to 200 people.

  • Bars are limited to 25% capacity.

  • Hotels with more than 100 rooms are limited to 75% capacity.
